Whether traveling on business or pleasure, landing at or flying out of San Francisco International Airport will start your trip on a positive note. SFO connects non-stop with more than 60 cities in the United States on 27 domestic airlines, including more non-stop flights to the East Coast than any other Bay Area airport. In addition, SFO offers non-stop links with more than 30 international carriers. The Airport is actually located in San Mateo County and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit System) connects the airport and the Peninsula to most of the Bay Area. BART has been recently voted the Number One transit system in the United States by the American Public Transportation Association, the nation’s largest consortium of transportation agencies. The brand new Millbrae Intermodal Station provides BART connections with CalTrain and the SamTrans bus system to facilitate transportation throughout the San Francisco Peninsula and beyond. The 24-hour Air Train, SFO’s fully automated people mover connecting all the terminals, garages, Rental Car Center, and BART station, provides convenient and frequent service throughout the airport. Additionally, the Baby Bullet Train started its service between San Francisco and San Jose and covers the distance in less than an hour at speeds up to 75 mph.

In addition to the dining and shopping venues, SFO features an amazing number of amenities and services that make traveling out of this outstanding airport a truly pleasurable experience. The newly-opened PowerPort Business Center is a 24-hour, 7-day self-serve facility that provides travelers with fax and copier services, private cubicles (with and without computers), and conference rooms outfitted with a full array of services such as speakerphones, Internet connections, and private copy and fax. PowerPort has also opened its new Battery Charging and Internet Access Station in Terminal 3. The Berman Reflection Room provides a center for peaceful self-reflection and meditation, and the Christian Science Reading Room is a quiet place to read or buy Christian literature. In addition, a great number of airlines offer lounges for their passengers, and there are activity centers for children and a USO lounge for military personnel. XpresSpa provides a total spa experience including massages, manicures, pedicures, facials and waxing. Other special services at SFO include cellular phone rentals; InMotion Pictures renting DVD and DVD player for use at the airport, during a flight, or for the entire vacation; foreign currency exchange; SFO Hairport providing showers, haircuts, facials, shoulder and scalp massages, and more; lockers and storage facilities; lodging, transportation and attractions boards, as well as Travelers’ Aid booths; private nursery rooms; medical clinic and urgent care services; airport travel agency; banking and postal services; privatized TSA security agents; and the cutting-edge technology of Wi-Fi, or Wireless Fidelity, a high-speed-wireless system for Internet access available to passengers via pay-as-you-go, 300 pre-paid minutes, or subscription plans.

San Francisco International Airport is served by over 40 major domestic and international airlines. Recently SFO has added to its roster discount airlines that offer economical fares to destinations around the U.S.
